Dr. Johan Jansma MKA - surgeon
Johan Jansma studied dentistry and medicine at the University Groningen. He followed his training in Maxillofacial surgery at the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG; 1987-1991). He completed his PhD thesis in november 1991. Between 1991 and 2023 he was associate professor at the UMCG. In 2000 he became board certified in head and neck oncology and became ‘Fellow of the European Board of Oro-Maxillofacial Surgeons’. Since 2007 he is staff member in the Martini Hospital Groningen and since 2023 also in the Face to Face clinic Groningen.
His main fields of interest are orthofacial surgery and cosmetic facial surgery.
Johan Jansma published in national and international journals and books and he presented many lectures.
Prof. Leszek Kubisz
A graduate of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics at the Adam Mickiewicz University, major in physics, he is professionally affiliated with the Chair of Biophysics at the Poznan University of Medical Sciences. He received his Ph.D. degree in life sciences and his postdoctoral degree in medical sciences from the Poznan University of Medical Sciences for his research on the effects of physical factors on the properties of collagen and bone. His research interests include the effects of physical factors on living organisms. He is involved in objective methods of assessing skin condition and postural stability as well as practical use of collagen. He conducts teaching activities in biophysics for Polish and English-speaking students. Since 2011, he has been the head of the Department of Biophysics and the Department of Biophysics at the Poznan University of Medical Sciences.
Prof. Ewa Mojs
Neuropsychologist and therapist, Head of the Department of Clinical Psychology, Poznan University of Medical Sciences (PUMS). Head of the Mental Health Center at the PUMS, Chairperson of the Scientific Council of the Foundation "Nie widać po mnie." Prof. dr hab. Ewa Mojs teaches clinical psychology, neuroscience, and neuropsychotherapy at many faculties, courses, and training, including postgraduate courses at PUMS and SWPS University. Promoter of master's and doctoral theses.
Organises scientific conferences in the field of chronic diseases and psychological support. Co-author of textbooks in the field of clinical psychology and neuropsychology, e.g., "Psychological Competence in the Work of a Doctor." Author of more than 600 articles and presentations at scientific conferences. EU expert on health and healthy society. Works as a practicing neuropsychologist and neuro psychotherapist.
Rutger Schepers MD DDS PHD
Maxillofacial surgeon - Martini hospital Groningen and Face to Face clinic Groningen
Rutger Schepers Graduated as dentist from the University of Nijmegen in 2001. After his graduation he worked as a trainee in Maxillofacial surgery. In 2005 he graduated from medical school at the University of Nijmegen. Hereafter Rutger started a full-time training program at the Department of Maxillofacial surgery at the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG). After his graduation in 2010 he became a part-time staff member at this department as Maxillofacial surgeon with a special interest in 3D virtual treatment planning and started working as a Maxillofacial surgeon in the Martini hospital in Groningen part-time. In 2016 he completed his PhD on the topic of: 3D planning of fibula graft reconstruction combined with dental implants. Since then the focus of his research shifted to virtual treatment planning of orthognathic surgery and cosmetic facial surgery. Rutger Schepers has published on these topics in national and international journals.
He is currently working as a maxillofacial surgeon in the Face to Face clinic and the Martini Hospital in Groningen and has specialized on orthognathic-, orthofacial- and cosmetic facial surgery.
Prof. Ewa Baum
Head of the Department of Social Sciences and the Humanities, Poznań University of Medical Sciences. Her research interests concern the expansive development of biomedicine and the ethical and legal contexts implied by these developments. In particular, her focus is on the consequences of the development of modern transplantology, regenerative medicine and dialysis, as well as the quality of life of chronically ill patients and their subjective expectations concerning medical, psychological and social support, including spiritual aspects. Author of several books, e.g. Komórki macierzyste jako bioetyczny problem współczesnej medycyny (2010) and Jakość życia chorych poddawanych terapii nerkozastępczej (2017), and over a hundred papers in Polish and international journals. Editor of numerous publications. Holder of numerous scientific accolades, including for best abstract on haemodialysis from the International Society for Haemodialysis (USA, 2015), as well as teaching awards, e.g. for Best Lecturer of the Year 2018 at Poznan University of Medical Sciences. Academic teacher of courses in Polish and English in the field of ethics, bioethics, multiculturality and modern medical didactics. Participant in the Master of Didactics in excellent teaching programme at Aarhus University (Denmark, 2020). Member of international research teams, societies and commissions, including the European Society for Philosophy of Medicine and Health Care, the National Bioethical Commission for Clinical Research, the Health Expert Commission of the Patient Ombudsman, the Institute for Patients’ Rights and Health Education, and the Policy Team for the Integration of Immigrants in Poznań.
Prof. Marzena Liliana Wyganowska
A specialist in periodontics and aesthetic medicine with many years of experience. Currently she is the head of the Department of Oral Surgery, Periodontology and Oral Mucosa Diseases on the Medical University of K. Marcinkowski in Poznań. Her passion focuses on the processes of biostimulation and bioregeneration of tissues. She conducts research on the biology of fibroblasts in relation to natural substances and biostimulants. An author of over 120 publications in national and foreign journals. respected opinion leader, trainer and speaker at national and international anti-aging medicine congresses. Specializes in treatments that restore biological balance.
Agnieszka Zemke-Górecka, Ph.D.
Attorney-at-law, mediator, arbitrator, assistant professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Bialystok. Author of a number of scientific publications and conference speeches in the field of medical law and mediation. In the years 2011 - 2016, she was the Chairwoman of the Provincial Commission for Adjudicating Medical Events. Since May 2023, she has been an Expert on Medical Law at the Association of Aesthetic Dermatologists.
Since 2018, she has been an arbitrator of the Eastern Court of Arbitration at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Białystok, and since 2022 of the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce. In 2019 and 2023, she was nominated a member of the Social Council for Alternative Dispute Resolution at the Minister of Justice. Since 2023, she has been the President of the Mediation Centre at the the Polish Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw.
Artur Matthews-Brzozowski
Artur Matthews-Brzozowski graduated in dentistry with distinction from the Poznan University of Medical Sciences in 2002. There he obtained his PhD degree in medicine with distinction in 2007 for his thesis titled “Visualization and evaluation of the temporomandibular joint structures before and after surgical treatment of patients with skeletal class III malocclusion”. In 2007 he moved to the Netherlands where he completed his medical study at the Radboud University Nijmegen and at the University of Groningen. In 2017 he finished his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at the University Medical Centre of Groningen. Since 2018 he has become a staff member at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical Center Leeuwarden. His particular area of interest is cleft, orthognathic surgery and implantology.
Oskar Komisarek DDS, MD, PhD
He graduated from the Medical University of Poznań. Doctor and dentist (with double license to practice the profession). Doctor of medical sciences in the field of maxillofacial surgery and orthodontics, currently undergoing specialization in maxillofacial surgery. He also obtained a Master of Science in Orthodontics. In clinical practice, I am interested in craniofacial malformations, rare genetic syndromes, and orthodontic-surgical team treatment. He published several works on this topic. He looks for solutions that will make it easier to work with the most difficult patients, using increasingly new solutions.
Prof. Dorota Hojan-Jezierska
Head of Department of Prosthodontics of the Department of Biophysics at the Poznan University of Medical Sciences. Specialist in the broad field of hearing care and medical biology, co-author of 365 scientific publications, scientific editor of the monograph series Challenges of Contemporary Hearing Prosthetics and co-editor of 14 monographs. She has participated in scientific research and development work in the above-mentioned fields. She is Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board of the PSPS and a member of many scientific societies. For several years she has organized and chairs the series of Symposia on Hearing Prosthetics in Medicine and the Forum of Young Researchers. Prof. Dorota Hojan-Jezierska, MD, is a respected lecturer and teaching at the Medicine Faculty, the Medicical Faculty and the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Poznan University of Medical Sciences. The promoter of dozens of master´s theses and 7 PhD theses. He is the co-founder of the studies of the direction of hearing prosthetics I and II degree at the Poznan University of Medical Sciences. For several years co-organizes and participates in the charity action Hearing Prosthetist in Africa.
Katarzyna Dubas PhD
Optometrist and dispensing optician. She graduated from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań with Master´s Degree in Medical Physics, Bachelor´s Degree in Dispensing Optics and Master´s Degree in Optometry. In 2010, she completed a one-month research internship at the Southern College of Optometry, Memphis, USA. In 2011, she participated in a research project modeling the gradient of the refractive index in animal lenses at Kingston University of London under the supervision of Professor Barbara Pierścionek. In 2022, she obtained PhD in medical sciences. Currently, she is employed as an assistant professor at the Department of Optometry, Chair of Ophthalmology and Optometry, Poznan University of Medical Sciences.
Renata Zenobia Śleboda PhD
Renata Zenobia Śleboda PhD in Physical Culture Sciences graduated from the Academy of Physical Education in 1992 with a degree in teaching. From 1993 to 2016, she was employed at the Academy of Physical Education in Poznań. She defended her doctoral dissertation in 2003 at the Academy of Physical Education in Kraków. Since 1997, she has been leading The Poznań Center for Relaxation and Movement Therapy "Garuda".
Her scientific and didactic work focuses on the unconventional methods of physical activity applied at various stages of education and in every individual`s life. This includes the use of Yoga, Tai chi, Qi gong, as well as Educational and Applied Kinesiology. A significant aspect of her work is the prevention and therapy of postural defects, pain ailments, stress reduction, prevention of civilization diseases, and the broadly understood spiritual development. In her activities, she combines the philosophical and spiritual aspects of both the East and the West.
She is the author and co-author of numerous scientific papers, monographs, and methodological studies on the aforementioned topics. Currently, she shares her knowledge and experience through her work at the Academy of Physical Education in Poznań, the S.Staszic State Higher Vocational School in Piła, and the Postgraduate Studies in “Face Aesthetic” at the Medical University in Poznań. Since 2013, she has been collaborating with the “Amazonki” Women`s Society.
